graph 3secx
The formula used for graphing sec functions: y=Asec(Bx-C), period=2π/B, Phase-shift=C/B, A=multiplier
For given function,3secx:
A=3
B=1
Period=2π/B=2π
Phase-shift: none
..
Graphing for one period:
note: I don't have the means to draw a graph for you, but I can show you how to do it.
An easy way to draw the graph of a sec function is to first draw its reciprocal, the more familiar cos function, then just by inspection you can see the points you need to draw the graph of the sec function.
..
For example, at x=0, π, and 2π, cos=1,-1, and 1, so sec is 1,-1 and 1 at x=0 ,π and 2π.
At x=π/2 and 3π/2, cos=0, so there are asymptotes for the sec function at x=π/2 and 3π/2.
Because of the multiplier A=3, the y-coordinates are multiplied by 3.
Visually, the sec function sits atop and below the cosine function.
