Question 546030: (4/5) to the 6x + 1 power=5/4, how do i solve this problem, show steps
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(4/5) to the 6x + 1 power=5/4
----
Whenevery you have the variable in the exponent you
should take the log to get it out of there.
----
Taking the log of both sides you get:
(6x+1)*log(4/5) = log(5/4)
6x+1 = log(5/4)/log(4/5)
----
6x +1 = -1
6x = -2
x = -1/3
