Question 516659: Multiply and simplify
(sin θ + cos θ) (sin θ + cos θ) - 1 / sin θ

Answer by Aswathy(23)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(sin θ + cos θ) (sin θ + cos θ) - 1 / sin θ
=[(sinθ+cosθ)^2-1]/sinθ
=[sin^2+2cosθsinθ+cos^2-1]/sinθ
=[1-1+2cosθsinθ]/sinθ (using the identity sin^2θ+cos^2θ=1)
=2cosθsinθ/sinθ
=2sinθ (by canceling out common factors)
