I am having problems graphing this problem y=3/4sin(1/2 theta-pi)
**
Standard form for graph of sin function: y=Asin(Bx-C), A=amplitude, period=2π/B,
Phase-shift=C/B
..
y=3/4sin(1/2 theta-pi)
y=3/4*sin(x/2-π)
A=3/4
B=1/2
Period=2π/B=2π/(1/2)=4π
1/4 period=4π/4=π
Phase-shift=C/B=-π/(1/2)=-2π (to the right)
..
Graphing function for one period on (x,y) coordinate system:
On the x-axis make tick marks at π, 2π, 3π, and 4π (1/4 period points)
At x=0,y=3/4*sin(x/2-π)=3/4sin(-π)=0
At x=π,y=3/4*sin(π/2-π)=3/4sin(-π/2)=-3/4
At x=2π, y=0
At x=3π, y=3/4
At x=4π, y=0
You now have the following coordinates to graph given sin function:
(0,0), (π,-3/4), (2π,0), (3π,3/4), (4π,0)
