Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a circular sector would be an arc.
if you looked at it from above, it would look something like a slice of a round pie that was cut from the outside of the pie to the center, making a wedge.
the radius is equal to 1.875 cm
the central angle is 165.58 degrees.
the outside arc of the cam would be equal to 165.58/360 * 2 * pi * r
r is the radius of the circle.
this becomes:
165.58 / 360 * 2 * pi * 1.875 which becomes 5.418592829 cm.
you also have the pieces that go from the ends of the arc to the center.
those pieces are 1.875 cm apiece.
the perimeter is therefor equal to the length of the arc plus the pieces that go from the ends of the arc to the center.
this would be equal to 5.418592829 + 2 * 1.875 which equals 9.168592829 cm.
here's a reference you can look at regarding area and perimeter of a circular section.
