SOLUTION: How do you solve;
sin(x)+sin(2x)=0
I understand that sin(2x)=2sin(x)cos(x), so here is what I have right now:
sin(x)+2sin(x)cos(x)=0
I don't understand how to factor it

Question 454351: How do you solve;
sin(x)+sin(2x)=0
I understand that sin(2x)=2sin(x)cos(x), so here is what I have right now:
sin(x)+2sin(x)cos(x)=0
I don't understand how to factor it any further.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sin(x)+2sin(x)cos(x)=0
I don't understand how to factor it any further.
------------------
Factor out the common factor, sin(x):
-----
sin(x)[1+2cos(x)] = 0
---
sin(x) = 0 or 1+2cos(x) = 0
---
sin(x) = 0 or cos(x) = -1/2
---
x = 0, or 180 or 240 or 300 degrees
