Question 453268: I would appreciate some help verifying this identity:
tan((-pi/2)+x)=-cot x
It may not be verifiable.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
verifying this identity:
tan((-pi/2)+x)=-cot x
-----
Left side change:
---
[(tan(-pi/2)+tan(x))/(1-tan(-pi/2)*tan(x)] = -cot(x)
------
Simplify left side:
-------
Comment: tan(-pi/2) is undefined, so the left side is undefined
and cannot equal the right side.
