Question 447264: Please help me rewrite tan(cos^-1v) as an algebraic expression in v.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
rewrite tan(cos^-1v) as an algebraic expression in v.
----
Let theta be the angle whose cosine is v/1
---
Then x = v and r = 1
So, y = sqrt(1^2 - v^2)
===
Therefore tan(cos^-1(v))
= tan(theta)
= y/x
= sqrt(1-v^2)/v
