Question 400470: solve:
2x-3y=12
4x-5y=-3

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x - 3y = 12-----> -4x + 6y = -24 {multiplied top by -2}
4x - 5y = -3------> 4x - 5y = -3 {bottom stays the same}

y = -27 {added the two new equations together}

2x - 3(-27) = 12 {substituted -27 in for y into top equation}
2x + 81 = 12 {multiplied -3 by -27}
2x = -69 {subtracted 81 from both sides}
x = -69/2 {divided both sides by 2}
