Question 355122: Find cos (theta).
Given: sin (theta)=1/2
and (theta) is an acute angle
I need help with the steps on how to find cos. I thought I had the right formula, but I don't remember how to use it correctly. Found 2 solutions by vleith, Fombitz:Answer by vleith(2983) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! sin^2 + cos^2 = 1
cos^2 = 1 - sin^2
cos^2 = 1 - (0.5)^2
cos^2 = 0.75
cos = sqrt(.75)
cos = 0.866
We also know that a sin of 1/2 on an acute angle is a 30 degree angle.
What is cos(30)??
