Question 339049: subtract straght down to see the answer
y=2/5x-7
y=2/5x+4

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
subtract straght down to see the answer
y=2/5x-7
y=2/5x+4
--------------
0 = 0 -11
0 = -11
-----
That is a contradiction.
It tells you the "y" and the "x"
in the two equations never have
the same defined value.
That tells you the lines are parallel;
they do not share an (x,y) point.
