Assume that the earth’s radius is 3960 miles, the altitude of the jet is low, and the earth rotates about its axis once in 24 hours.

The Earth has a circumference of 2π(3960)= 24881.41382 rounded to 24881
That means it rotates 24881/24 = 1036.708333
The jet will have to fly about 1037 mph.
