Question 314975: I am not in Algebra 2, I am in Algebra 1 and just need the basics.I have a hypotnuse of 30 and an angle of 32.The adjacent and opposite are unknown.I know I have to use cos=adj./hyp. in order to find the opposite, but how do I solve this in order to find my awnser?I know this is how it would look if I wanted to sole my problem...so far ----> cos=adj./30
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First off, you didn't specify, so I have to assume that your angle is measured in degrees. 32 radians would be a little silly anyway.
You can find an approximation of
by using your calculator cosine function button. Make sure you are in degree mode and apply the cosine function to 32.
If you know that
, then you can always say that
.
Given that you have a hypotenuse of 30 and an angle of 32, you can say:
A little calculator work and you will have your answer.
