suppose (~) is an angle in standard position whose terminal side lies in quadrant II.
if sin (~) = 12/13, find values of sec (~)

sin is y/r
y = 12 and r = 13
x = sqrt[13^2-12^2) = sqrt(169-144) = sqrt(25) = 5
---------------------------
But x is negative in Quadrant II so x = -5
------------------------------------------------
sec(~) = r/x = 13/-5 = -13/5
