A point of the rim of a wheel moves with a velocity of 95 feet per second.Find the angular velocity of the point if the diameter of the wheel is 5 feet.
here are the possible answers:
a)19 rad/sec
b)38 rad/sec
c)475 rad/sec
Answer by JimboP1977(311) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Linear velocity v = w*r where w is angular velocity in radians and r is the radius.
So
95 feet/sec = w * 2.5 (remember that the radius is always half the diameter)
So to find w we divide 95 by 2.5 to give 38 rads/sec
