Question 216682: find the value of sin^-1(sin 5pi/6)
Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's 5pi/6.
------------
The inverse function of a function is the original value.
However, it could also be other values, as sine functions are cyclic.
sin(5pi/6) = 0.5
sin-1(0.5) = pi/6, 5pi/6 (as principal values)
To be thorough:
= pi/6 + 2n*pi, n = 0,1,2,...
= 5pi/6 + 2n*pi, n = 0,1,2,...
