I assume you mean linear equations.

Make 2 eqns, eg,
x + y = ??
x - y = ??
----------
Then sub for x and y
x + y = 9.5
x - y = -7.5
------------
Any coefficients can be used.
x + 3y = ... 24.5
3x+ 4y = ... 36
