Find x-intercept and y- intercept and graph

Step 1. x-intercept occurs when y=0 and y-intercept occurs when x=0.

Step 2. So at x=0 then

So y-intercept is 4 at point (0,4)

Step 3. At y=0 then

So x-intercept is -8/3 at point (-8/3,0)

Step 4. Here's the graph and note the x-intercept and y-intercept points on the graph.

Solved by pluggable solver: DESCRIBE a linear EQUATION: slope, intercepts, etc
Equation describes a sloping line. For any
equation ax+by+c = 0, slope is .
  • X intercept is found by setting y to 0: ax+by=c becomes ax=c. that means that x = c/a. -8/3 = -2.66666666666667.
  • Y intercept is found by setting x to 0: the equation becomes by=c, and therefore y = c/b. Y intercept is -8/-2 = 4.
  • Slope is -3/-2 = 1.5.
  • Equation in slope-intercept form: y=1.5*x+4.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
