I want to calculate the hour line for a horizontal sundial:
tan x = (sin 40)(tan 15)

tan(x) = ~ 0.642788*0.267949
tan(x) = ~ 0.172234
x =~ 9.7724 degrees ??
I don't see any connection to a sundial.
