You can put this solution on YOUR website! If you have a calculator with sin, cos and tan keys, your calculator probably also has keys marked with what looks like these function names with an exponent of -1. (I'd try showing them to you but Algebra.com's software will not let me do this.) These are inverse sin, cos and tan keys and they are what you need for this type of problem. They are probably not easy to find. They are probably "Shift" or "2nd" keys. If you can find these keys then your problems are easy.
For (a) sin x = 0.4417, type in the inverse sin key followed by 0.4417. Then press the "enter" or "=" key. It should answer with a number in the 20's. This is the number of degrees in the angle whose sin is 0.4417. (If you get a number less than 1 instead of a number in the 20's, then it means that your calculator is set to radian measure. If you want degrees and not radians, then either figure out how to change your calculator to degree mode or just multiply the radian number by 180 and then divide by .)
If you do not have a calculator or you do not have a calculator with trig functions one it, or you have a calculator with trig functions but cannot find the inverse function keys, then you will have to use a table. At the back of your Math book you should find a table of trig function values. Find this table and, for (a), find the column of values for the sin function. Find 0.4417 (or as close as you can get to 0.4417). Then look across the table to see the number of degrees. (Again, the answer should be in the 20's.
For the other problems, use the appropriate keys or appropriate columns fromthe table in the back of your book.
