You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Cody and Efrim were competing in a road rally. If Cody traveled
x^2 - 4 / 3x - 6 in the first hour and Efrim traveled 2x^2 + 3x - 2 / 8x - 4
who traveled farther the first hour of the race? Explain your reasoning.
-----------------
(x^2 - 4)/(3x - 6) Is that what you meant?
=(x-2)*(x+2)/(3*(x-2))
=(x+2)/3
-------
(2x^2 + 3x - 2)/(8x - 4)
=(2x^2 + 3x - 2)/4*(2x - 1)
=(x+2)*(2x-1)/4(2x-1)
=(x+2)/4
---------
(x+2)/3 is larger if x is positive.
