The amplitude is the absolute value of the number in front of the trig function.
So, amplitude = |-3| = 3
To find the period, we must see what happens to (2x + pi) as it varies between 0 and 2pi.
0 ≤ 2x + pi ≤ 2pi
0 ≤ 2x ≤ 2pi - pi
0 ≤ 2x ≤ pi
Do you see the 3 zeros on the left side? This means we started with zero and ended with zero. Thus, there is no phase shift.
To find the period, subtract 0 from pi.
Period = pi - 0
Perio = pi
To graph, use a graphing calculator or graph it by selecting several values for x and then simplifying to find values of y that together make points to be plotted on the xy-plane.
