Question 172275: I have two questions. One of them I came up with an answer, but am not sure if it is right.
1. Find the esact value of: tan(-3pi)
2. Find the exact value of: sin60 degrees - cos60 degrees.
For this I came up with an answer of 0.366
I have to show all my work.
Thanks

I have two questions. One of them I came up with an answer, but am not sure if it is right.
1. Find the esact value of: tan(-3pi)
-3pi is the same as -pi, since 2pi is a complete revolution. Then, -pi is the same as pi, because it's halfway around the circle.
pi radians, or 180 degs, puts the point on the x-axis, so the tan is y/x, or 0/1. Tan(-3pi) = 0
-------------------
2. Find the exact value of: sin60 degrees - cos60 degrees.
sin(60) - cos(60) = (sqrt(3)/2) - 1/2
= (1/2)*(sqrt(3) - 1)
That is 0.366, but when an exact value is asked for, it's in the form I gave.
For this I came up with an answer of 0.366
I have to show all my work.
