Question 142105: I am trying to find the cot theta/2
I have a triangle which is not a right triangle, an angle theta with adjacent side of 8 and opposite side of 6.
I thought I was doing it correctly but I don't think I am.
I figured that since the cot = adj/opp = 8/6 which is 1.3333 and since it is cot theta/2, I then divided that by 2 and got .6666
Then I'm stuck. What do I do with the .6666 (if that is correct so far)?

If you do not have a right triangle or some other
information about theta you cannot determine cot(theta/2).
