From the top of a building, you look down at an object on the ground.
If your eyes are 20 meters above the ground and the angle of depression is 50°
how far is the object from you?

You have a right-angled triangle.


20 m is its leg;  50° is the angle in the triangle, opposite to this leg.
The hypotenuse "H" is "how far".


So, you write  20 = H*sin(50°) and find
