Question 1194210: A building is 50 feet high. At a distance away from the building, an observer notices that the angle of elevation to the top of the building is 41º.
If the observer moves horizontally and notices that the angle of elevation to the top of the building is 75o, how far is the observer from the base of the building?A.18.66 ft.
B.15.38 ft. C.13.40 ft.
D.12.56 ft.
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
side opposite angle is 50.
side adjacent to angle is x.
angle is 75 degrees.
tan(75) = 50/x
solve for x to get:
x = 50/tan(75) = 13.39745962
round to 13.40 = selection C.
