(1) Keep the -1 and add or subtract any multiple of 2pi to the given angle. That points the vector in the same direction with the same magnitude.

OR...

(2) Change the -1 to its opposite, 1; and add any odd multiple of pi to the given angle. That points the vector in the opposite direction with the opposite magnitude, thus landing you in the same position.
