Question 1140347: A circular gear with a radius of 6 inches is driving a larger circular gear with a radius of 10 inches. What is the angular speed of the larger gear, in radians oer minute, if the smaller gear makes 5 full revolutions per minute?

.

The product radius * angular speed is THE SAME for every such a transmission

(because the linear speed of the two circular gears is the same (!) )

Therefore, 6 inches * 5 revolutions = 10 inches * x revolution,

which gives you the number of revolution of the larger gear x = = 3. ANSWER

Solved.
