Question 108924: The distance from Philadelphia to Sea Isle City is 100 mi. A car was driven this distance using tires with a radius of 14 in. How many revolutions of each tire occurred on the trip?
This is my last question of the day. I hate word problems AND i dont understand what/how to do the radius thing either if someone could explain how that would be so great!! Thanx

Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
All you need to do is find the circumference of the tire, which is
1 revolution and dividee that into 100 mi. (converting to inches)

(100 mi.)*(5280 ft/mi)*(12 in/ft) = 6336000
revolutions =
revolutions = to nearest revolution
