You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve sin (2x) + cos (2x) = 0
-----------
sin (2x) = -cos (2x)
Square both sides
sin^2(2x) = cos^2(2x) = 1 - sin^2(2x)
sin^2(2x) = 1 - sin^2(2x)
2sin^2(2x) = 1
sin^2(2x) = 1/2
Can you do the rest?

.
Solve sin (2x) + cos (2x) = 0
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sin (2x) + cos (2x) = 0  --->  sin(2x) = - cos(2x)  --->  tan(2x) = -1  --->
2x = 3pi%2F4   and/or  2x = 7pi%2F4.
1.  If 2x = 3pi%2F4 then there are two answers for x:
    a)  x = 3pi%2F8  and  x = 11pi%2F8.
2.  If 2x = 7pi%2F4 then there are two answers for x:
    a)  x = 7pi%2F8  and  x = 15pi%2F8.
Answer.  There are 4 solutions:
         x = 3pi%2F8 ;  x = 11pi%2F8;  x = 7pi%2F8;  x = 15pi%2F8.
Plot y = sin (2x) + cos (2x)
