Question 1065939: If cot theta = q/p. Show that (p sin theta- q cos theta)/(p sin theta + q cos theta)= (p^2 - q^2)/(p^2+q^2)
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(p sin theta- q cos theta)/(p sin theta + q cos theta)
cot theta= cos theta/ sin theta=q/p
So cos theta=q and sin theta = p
p^2-q^2/p^2 + q^2, by substitution.
