Question 1063501: Can someone help verify this: consider the equation (5/2) cos2x - 1/2 =3 sinx.
A) Put the equation in to standard quadratic formula
B) Use the quadratic equation to factor the equation
C) what are solutions to the equation to two decimal places
where x is in 0 to 360 degrees
I have the following answers;
a) 5sin^2x +3sinx - 2 (I rearranged so that left side equals 0 and used the double angle formula cos2x =1-2sin^2x)
b) 0 = (5sinx-2)(sinx+1)
c) Solutions I got are : x= 0.41; x= 2.73; x= 1.57
Thank you in advance for reviewing
