This is such a STUPID question, and can only be solved if the boy's hand, with the string, was placed on top of his head.
Who writes these problems? These people certainly know how to create ridiculous and unrealistic scenarios. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
I sure hope that they'll desist from incorporating these STUPID scenarios into math problems.
