Question 1056598: The radius of the tires of a car is 18 inches, and they are revolving at the rate of 673 revolutions per minute. How fast is the car traveling in miles per hour?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
radius is 18 inches, and the circumference is 2*pi*18=113.01 inches
without rounding, multiply by 673 then by 60 to get revolutions per hour
then divide by 63,360, which is the number of inches in a mile. That will be the speed in mph.
72.078 mph
