Question 1049361: the radius of a car wheel is 5 inches. if the wheels are turning at the rate of 3 revolution per second, how fast is the car moving? express yuor answer in inches per second in miles
Answer by addingup(3677)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Radius: 5 inches
circumference (the perimeter of the circle): 2r*Pi = 2(5)Pi = 31.42 inches
Next:
3 revolutions per second: 31.42*3 = 94.26 inches per second
:
I don't understand "inches per second in miles", this doesn't make sense to me. But if you need to run any additional calculations:
There are 63,360 inches in one mile
There are 60*60 = 3,600 seconds in one hour
