Question 1044083: Not sure if my answers for perimeter and area are correct with the following Scalene/Acute triangle base is 10 one side is 7 and missing other side measurement. Height measurement of 5.6 through middle of scalene triangle (right angle). The area I believe is 28 squared and perimeter is 25.08 (missing side I determined was 8.08)
Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
:
*****************************************
Area = (1/2) * 10 * 5.6 = 28 square units
*****************************************
:
let x be the missing side, then
:
x^2 + 7^2 = 10^2
:
note that the side opposite the right angle is the hypotenuse
:
x^2 = 51
:
x = 7.1414
:
*****************************************
The perimeter = 7 + 7.1414 + 10 = 24.1414
