Find the slope and the elevation of the tangent to the graph of y=cos 2x where x=2.4 radians.

y = cos(2x)
y' = -2sin(2x)
Slope = y'(2.4) = -2sin(4.8) =~ 1.99233

If by elevation you mean the y value:
y(2.4) = cos(4.8) =~ 0.0875
