Question 1022064: From the top of a 90-m high building, it is observed that the top of another building makes a 40 degrees angle of depression. If the two buildings are 60-m apart, how tall is the other building? Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If you draw this with the taller building on the right, there is a right triangle with leg 60 m and an angle of 40 degrees.
Tan 40=x/60, and x is the difference in height between the buildings.
x=60 tan 40=50.35
Subtract that from 90 and the other building is 39.65 m high.
