Hi there,
Consider the road is a right
angled triangle.
Hypotenuse = 300 ft.
Altitude = Opposite side.
Using trigonometric ratios.
Sin(x) = opposite/hypotenuse
sin (45) = opposite/300
Opposite = 300 x tan(45)
Oppsite = 300
So altitude climbed = 300 feet.
