Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(cscx+1)(cscx-1)/cot^2x=?
--------
= (csc^2(x)-1)/cot^2(x) = ?
-------
Note:: sin^2 + cos^2 = 1
Divide thru by sin^2 to get:
1 + cot^2 = csc^2
So,csc^2-1 = cot^2
------
Back to your problem::
= cot^2(x)/cot^2(x)
====
= 1
---------

Stan H.
