Question 101115: 5(2x + y) - 4(2x + y) _>_ 4
Help with this problem and graph. PLEASE

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5(2x + y) - 4(2x + y) _>_ 4
10x+5y-8x-4y >=4
2x+y >= 4
y >= -2x+4
--------------------
Graph the boundary line: y = -2x+4

---------------------
To find the solution for the inequality
pick a test point that is not on the
boundary, like (0,0).
Test the x, y values in the inequality:
0 > -2*0 + 4
0 > 0+4
False
Therefore the solution half-plane is the one
on the other side of the boundary line: darken
that side. The solution is the boundary and
the darkened half-plane.
