Variable y is the height of the triangle using AC=b as the base, and the third last equation is use of Law Of Sines.
The analysis of the drawing (not shown here) can give the system; and then this system can be solved, and you can include finding b=AC. This is the base of the triangle. That is the strategy. I have not finished doing the solution but you should be able to.
