Question 401653: The length of the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle is 17 cm. The base of the triangle is 7 cm
more than the height. Find the height of the triangle.
I looked at the answer from the answers book it said height = 8cm, then I worked out this is because of pythagoras' theorem.
However I don't know how with the information given you would put this in a quadratic equation and work it out, for the question I need to show working out which I am confused of because I don't know the steps of working out, please help.
