Question 338929: The base of a triangle is 4 in. less than twice the height. The area is of the traingle is 35 inches squared . Find the height of the base.
-I am aware of the formula, but I am really having a difficult time writing out the problem in the form so I can understand it. So far, this is what I have:
(1/2) x (2h-4) x h = 35
I know that I need to factor, but I cannot seem to factor based on the how I developed the problem. Can you please provide some step-by-step basis so I have a good understanding of what I should be doing. I would appreciate any help!
Thanks! Melissa
