Question 61867: There is a meteor shower. One meteor appears at A(7,8) and disappears at B (1,4).
Calculate the gradient of the meteor's flight path.
calculate the acute angle between the flight path and the horizon (OX) correct to the nearest degree.
A second meteor, on a parallel path, starts at C(6,2) and disappears below the horizon at D. Find the co-ordinates of D.

Question 52778: Hello. Thank you for volunteering. I have a simple trigonometry problem. If I can find the answer WITHOUT USING A SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR (ie: cosine or sine buttons), it will help me greatly to become independant of electronic devices on my sailboat. Here it is: In a right triangle, if I know the length of the hypotenuse, and all three angles are known, what is the formula for finding the length of either of the other 2 sides? Standard labelling please... c=hyp,a=vertical side, b=horizontal side, angle A opposite side a, B opposite b, C opposite c. Thanks again. ray.

This problem has completely confused me but here goes nothing:
sqrt 5 - sqrt 3 = sqrt2
sqrt 5 + sqrt 3 = sqrt8
sqrt 2 + sqrt 8 = sqrt 10
sqrt 10 + 4 = sqrt 14
Is this the correct process?
