Question 229565: HELLP!!!!!!!!!! How do you find the height of a similiar triangle???? I have not seen this since 1985!!! One triangle in C A B with the ht being 5 ft and angle C B being 9 ft. The other triangle is F D E with F E being 11 ft.I need to determine the Height of FG from DEF.I would like to try and figure it out myself but I don't know how to and the book for this class (HA-HA) is useless. There are no examples in this book!I have been up all night trying to figure this out!!!

Question 230429: Earlier today I sent in question 230375, the one about the rectangular plot and the diagonal line. I understand the solution you sent back to me up until you tell me to combine like terms, etc. I really don't know how you got 0=w^2-230w+12000. Could you show me step by step how you got that, you know, like showing me to add something to this side or divide. THanks

Question 230460: A right triangle has sides measuring 2x-1, 3x-13, and 3x-4 units. What is the value of x?
I'm thinking I should try to do Pythag's theorem on it like (3x-13)^2 + (2x-1)^2 = (3x-4)^2, but i'm not sure. everytime I do that I always get a different answer. Also, I'm not really sure which equation to use for the legs and which to use for the hypotenuse. Could you help me? Thanks!
