Question 31363: An equilateral triangle has an area of 300square root of 3. Find the apothem.
My teacher said that there is a formula that can be used to find this. I have looked and looked but have not been successful yet. She said it has to do with the connection between the area and perimeter of equilateral triangles. I tried to find the perimeter of the triangle by using the area formula A=1/2bh. I was unable to get anywhere close to the area. I don't know what else to try. Could you please help me?

Question 32801This question is from textbook Addison Wesley Geometry
: Chapter is tittled "Right Triangle Relationships"
Where the altitude is MQ and the hypotenuse is NP.......... The question is this: If MN = 8, QN = 6, What is PN? I have tried to help my 9th grader, but Geometry was not my strong subject when I was in high school. He has a quiz over this tomorrow. Any chance anyone is out there who can help with the answer and explanation yet tonight so he can look at it and understand it in the morning before he goes to school? Question 33430: Could you please help? I think I may have it but not sure...Find the measures of the angles in each triangle. 102 degrees+(38+xdegrees)+x degrees=180 degrees
I came up with 102+x+(38+x)=180 2x + 140=180 - 140 -140 2x=140 so x=70?
can't figure this one. 3x+5x+x
Is it x=33.3

Question 33350: A playground, a 48 m square, is going to lose part of one corner (15m x 15m triangle) due to construction. They will take the triangluar section and add it to the two perpendicular square sides. Find the approximate width of the strip that will be added to each of the two sides.
We think it is the area of the triangle (1/2bh) 15 x 15 divided by 2 = 112.5 and add this to the area of the square (48 x 48 = 2304. These two added 112.5 and 2304 = 2415.5....we were told to then find the square root of this # 2415.5...but this just doesn't sound right to us. HELP! We tried other ways and were told it is wrong.

Question 35490: Real World Question:
I am considering buying a house where the house(garage door)will be set back 25 feet from the curb. The house will sit 4 foot higher than the street.
I am trying to figure out the slope of the driveway -- but my Algebra & Geometry are pretty rusty (it's been 35 years) -- can you help me determine the angle/slope for this driveway. (assume it is consistent angle from curb to garage.)
Thanks in advance for you assistance.
