Question 951298: The measures of the three angles of a triangle are given by 2x+6, x, and 3x. What is the measure of the largest angle?
Answer by macston(5194)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Sum of angles in triangle=180 degrees
(2x+6)+(x)+(3x)=180 degrees
6x+6=180 degrees Subtract 6 from each side.
6x=174 Divide each side by 6.
x=29 degrees
2x+6=2(29)+6=64 degrees
3x=3(29)=87 degrees
ANSWER The largest angle is 3x=89 degrees.
