Question 936581: What is the perimeter of an equilateral triangle whose one side is 5x-2 and another side that is equal to x
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
since it's an equilateral triangle, the sides are equal to each other.
this means that x = 5x-2
subtract x from both sides of this equation and add 2 to both sides of this equation to get:
4x = 2
divide both sides of this equation to get:
x = 2/4
each side is equal to 2/4
the perimeter is equal to 6/4 = 3/2.
