It's a Pythagorean triangle.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

x^2 + 7^2 = 25^2

x^2 + 49 = 625

x^2 = 625 - 49

x^2 = 576

x = sqrt(576)

x = 24

The ladder reaches 24 ft up the wall.
